Series of hand-embroidered mixed media paintings - ongoing and begun 2020
A series of hand-embroidered, painted and drawn mixed material artworks in which I juxtapose images of people in the aftermath of violence both within the US, at our borders and outside the US. I source news media images of immigrants traveling across the US-Mexico border, being picked up by ICE, people in the aftermath of mass shootings and people mourning those killed by US military operations. The series was begun in 2019 and is ongoing.
