PROGENY OF EMPIRE

a series of 22 hand-embroidered paintings made on canvas that has been buried in 22 of the 469 locations where the US has staged military interventions since 1798. The canvas will be buried in these locations a year or more and then excavated and repaired using embroidery thread, cleaned and then used as support for the artworks.
